Executive Summary

We are developing a new synthesis capability for all-carbon macro-assemblies to enable charge storage performance similar to lithium-ion batteries and improving super-capacitor technology by a factor of ten. These materials could have a large impact on global carbon dioxide emissions by supporting new photovoltaic solar-cell technologies and enhancing electric energy storage and harvesting.
