Selective Removal of Ions from Aqueous Solutions

Patrick Campbell | 18-ERD-024

Executive Summary

By leveraging sophisticated new modeling capabilities, we aim to develop and test a ground-breaking process to selectively remove ions from aqueous solutions using electric fields and porous electrodes. This “capacitive deionization” process has numerous applications to industry and national missions, including water treatment and precious metal recovery.
