Computational Design of Broadly Neutralizing Vaccines for Highly Mutable Pathogens

Executive Summary

We are exploring a novel, high-performance computational modeling method to design vaccines for highly mutable pathogens that may provide a groundbreaking solution to severe diseases such as human immunodeficiency virus and influenza. Our research could enable development of a universal flu vaccine to replace one administered annually or the rapid design of vaccines against natural pathogens and bioterrorism agents that are a threat to national security.
