Metal-Organic Frameworks as Templates for New Materials Featuring High Complexity and Ordered Porosity

Executive Summary

We will harness the uniform, crystalline structure and tunable porosity of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) to create new materials with controlled pore size and composition, offering a significant improvement over porous materials used in practical applications. If successful, our approach will offer a new source of custom, composite, porous materials that improve performance in batteries, fuel cells, carbon capture equipment, water purification devices, and other critical technologies.
