A Quantitative Methodology for Measuring Cyber Risk to Critical Infrastructure

Meghan Mcgarry | 17-ERD-117

Executive Summary

We are developing a methodology that employs modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide quantitative risk assessments of cyber threats to the national power grid, identify grid vulnerabilities, and evaluate potential mitigations. While the project supports the Department of Energy’s objective of maintaining a secure and resilient national energy infrastructure, the assessment framework is broadly applicable to many of the nation's critical infrastructures.
