Executive Summary
Advanced x-ray sources are only available at places like Argonne National Laboratory, where the amount of high explosives is highly limited, prohibiting the use of conventional high-explosive drives; therefore, exploring the feasibility of developing a low cost, high-throughput, ejecta-source platform that can be accommodated at Argonne can have a substantial impact. Data from these experiments could yield a better understanding of ejecta physics and enhance our predictive capabilities within the Stockpile Stewardship Program.
