Exploring Deuterium-Tritium Gas-Filled Hohlraums as a High-Field Neutron Source

Matthias Hohenberger | 18-ERD-059

Executive Summary

We are assessing the viability of using deuterium-tritium-filled hohlraums to create a high neutron flux significantly greater than that achievable with exploding pusher designs. This new class of laser target design could have many new applications for neutron effects research, forensic science, and nuclear science.
