Innate Persistence of Human Immune Memory T Cells

Bruce Buchholz | 18-LW-037

Executive Summary

The project aims to measure, for the first time, memory T-cell lifetimes and turnover in adult humans. Determining whether memory T cells persist or renew may indicate whether memory is lost over time, necessitating successive vaccinations to retain a strong immune memory for a pathogen and influencing the development of vaccines and cancer therapeutics.
