Quantum Levitation of Fuel Capsules for Inertial-Confinement Fusion

Sergei Kucheyev | 17-ERD-040

Executive Summary

We are developing a method for levitating and positioning a fuel capsule for inertial-confinement fusion to avoid implosion perturbations that limit output energy. This research will also provide a better understanding of properties of ultrathin superconductive films with applications in advanced materials and high-energy-density science research.
