Probing Liquid Phases and f-Electron Systems at the Dynamic Compression Sector

Dayne Fratanduono | 18-ERD-012

Executive Summary

Using x-ray diffraction, we are exploring the first quantitative measurements of dynamically compressed elemental liquids to develop a more accurate physical understanding of complex liquid systems. Developing the capability to measure important critical thermodynamic states and physical processes relevant to the nation's nuclear deterrent is central to national nuclear security goals.
