Developing and Characterizing New Tools for Actinide Processing Science

Executive Summary

We are developing and characterizing new advanced manufacturing techniques for the actinide rare earth metals to establish relationships between process, structure, property, and performance. Combining engineering, materials science, and computational modeling, these techniques enable streamlined materials production for weapons applications in support of national goals in stockpile stewardship science.
