Foams in Hohlraums

Ogden Jones | 17-ERD-118

Executive Summary

Our research is focused on improving national capabilities in modelling laser- and x-ray-heated foams accurately, thus enabling more predictable, better performing, foam-filled laser target capsules (hohlraums). Successful results will support the nation's science-based stockpile stewardship and energy security efforts by advancing the science of indirect drive inertial confinement fusion.
