Detection of Upwind Pathogens Using Aircraft and Ground Stations

Crystal Jaing | 18-ERD-044

Executive Summary

We will employ a unique suite of sampling resources from lower- and upper-atmosphere observatories to study the microbial diversity, abundance, and transport of bioaerosols. Our research supports national efforts in biological countermeasures by adding to our understanding of microbe transport and its impact on natural and deliberate disease transmission that could potentially affect human, animal, and crop health.
