Bioprinting of Engineered Biofilms for Microbial Electrosynthesis

William Hynes | 20-ERD-013

Executive Summary

We will apply advanced photo-driven three-dimensional bioprinting techniques to engineer communities of bacterial cells for the purpose of studying and optimizing the design of next-generation bioelectrodes for electrosynthesis of valuable compounds. These techniques will advance the science of microbial engineering and provide a new capability for creating smart biomaterials that can be used in a variety of applications.
