Executive Summary

We are constructing mesoporous gold foams to demonstrate the capability of a new class of metallopolymer materials. Such materials, possibly the first true contender for molecular composites, may form the basis of new, cost-effective strategies for rapid advanced manufacturing in the fields of energy storage, high-energy-density science, and stockpile stewardship.
