Tailored Particle Sources Driven by Precision-Shaped Short-Pulse Laser Pulses

Derek Mariscal | 20-ERD-048

Executive Summary

We will develop and explore the use of short-pulse laser pulse-shaping for precision tailoring of laser-driven particle beams. If successful, the resulting short-pulse predictive modeling and pulse-shaping capability will lead to unprecedented control over particle yields and energies and provide significant improvements to radiographic applications for stockpile stewardship.
