Super-Strong, Micrometer-Thin Carbon Nanotube Yarns

Xavier Lepro Chavez | 20-ERD-023

Executive Summary

We are developing thin wires made of strong carbon nanotubes to serve as the building materials for the next generation of low-contact laser target supports. The knowledge developed during this project will advance our capability to scale-up properties from the nanoscale to the macroscopic in materials used for inertial confinement fusion experiments in service to stockpile stewardship.
