Constraining the Habitability of Mars When Water Flowed on Its Surface

William Cassata | 20-LW-008

Executive Summary

Our research aims to constrain past atmospheric pressures on Mars through analyzing trapped atmospheric gases in Martian meteorites, thereby offering insight into planetary habitability of the distant past that is directly related to current and planned Mars rover and orbiter missions. This research will enhance national nuclear forensics capabilities, and successful results could be applied to forthcoming National Aeronautics and Space Administration missions to Mars.
