We will explore the feasibility of using multilayer Laue lenses for x-ray imaging applications at photon energies greater than 20 Kilo-Electronvolts (KeV) by developing simulation capabilities and applying them to high-energy-density experiments. If successful, this research will lead to multilayer coatings to make a large-aperture, diffractive optical element that focuses x-rays, improves x-ray imaging, and improves our understanding of high energy density science.
