Incorporation of Carbon Electrodes on Flexible Microelectrode Arrays

Executive Summary

We are developing a carbon materials fabrication process and then will design and fabricate a novel carbon and polymer microelectrode array that will enable neuroscientists to study for the first time both chemical and electrical signaling in the brain simultaneously using a polymer probe. This research enhances the field of neuroscience and has application to national missions involving chemical and electrical sensing and carbon materials development.
