Magnetically Assisted Ignition

John Moody | 20-SI-002

Executive Summary

We are embedding magnetic fields into laser target platforms to achieve higher temperatures and self-heating implosions. If successful, this research could place magnetically assisted ignition within implementation reach, enable new regimes of high-energy-density studies, and advance U.S. laser capabilities beyond current next-generation designs.
