Plasma Transport at the Nexus of Measurement and Modeling
Robert Rudd | 20-ERD-035
Executive Summary
We are developing x-ray free-electron laser experiments to determine species diffusivity in the warm dense matter regime and conducting advanced simulations of interdiffusion from first-principles at the time and length scales of the experiment. This approach will provide the first validation of predictions of this kind of multiscale simulation and provide the basis for model development suitable for use in hydrodynamic simulations at high-energy laser facilities.
