Engineered Human Vascular Models to Study Endothelial Dysfunction in Infectious Disease

Monica Moya | 22-LW-088

Executive Summary

We will establish the first human in-vitro model to interrogate the interactions of pathogens, the innate immune system, and endothelium that causes vasculopathy. An infectable, physiologically relevant, human in-vitro model is critical to understand the pathogenesis of emerging pathogens and to develop effective countermeasures.
