An Integrated and Computational Approach to Optimization of Functionally Graded Materials Using Additive Manufacturing
Kaila Bertsch | 23-ERD-034
Executive Summary
This work will develop an integrated computational-experimental framework to produce viable, optimized components with smoothly graded compositions using additive manufacturing, replacing conventional means of joining materials that intrinsically limit design lifetimes. By eliminating the need for slow, empirical methodologies, this framework will enable breakthrough production of graded parts with optimized performance in applications critical to stockpile stewardship and other program missions.
