Investigating Fluorescent Amino Acids with Entangled Photon Pair Absorption

Audrey Eshun | 23-FS-022

Executive Summary

We will test the feasibility of measuring fluorescence from amino acids excited with low intensity 532 nanometer entangled photon pairs, via a two-photon absorption event in the ultraviolet range, as a means to avoid photodamage to samples caused by existing methods. This quantum light technique open new avenues for microscopy to enable advanced imaging for biological and environmental research.
