Advancing Carbon Cycle Forecasts with Global Models of Soil Chemistry

Katerina Georgiou | 22-ERD-019

Executive Summary

We will develop and test a global-scale model to simulate major soil chemical properties that influence the capacity of soils to store carbon. This model will improve the spatial accuracy and predictive power of Earth system models used to forecast the global climate, and will also enable geographically targeted management of soil carbon, helping to fight climate change.
