Reconstructing the Birth Environment of the Solar System

Quinn Shollenberger | 23-LW-015

Executive Summary

We seek to identify the presolar dust that contributed calcium and strontium to the solar system and thus understand the stellar neighborhood from which the solar system formed. The methods developed in this study will translate into faster analyses on smaller sample sizes applied to pre-detonation and post-detonation nuclear forensics and significantly improve our current capabilities.
