Forecasting and Mitigating the Impacts of Climate Change on Renewable Energy Resources and Grid Reliability

Robert Arthur | 23-ERD-010

Executive Summary

This project will link climate projections with long-term grid infrastructure planning models to better ensure reliability in a future with high renewable energy penetration. A novel modeling capability, along with an analysis of climate-related uncertainties affecting renewables integration, will enable stakeholders to develop renewables-focused investment plans that mitigate climate risk and achieve policy objectives including deep decarbonization and net-zero.
