Rapid Detection of Candidates for Vaccines Against Biothreat Agents

Executive Summary

We are developing a rapid screening method that enables efficient identification of a broad array of protective antigen molecules–the part of a pathogen susceptible to antibodies in an immunized person. By determining the antigen molecules in pathogens that stimulate a protective immune response, this research could enable the development of vaccines against biothreat agents, thus supporting national biosecurity efforts.
