Host-Directed, Bioelectronic Immunomodulation for Protection Against Emerging Pathogens

Executive Summary

We will develop and implement a closed loop system capable of real-time monitoring of immune system status in tandem with bioelectronic stimulation of the peripheral nervous system to modulate immune system dysregulation. Developing a targeted, personalized treatment for severe infection, agnostic to the root pathogen, will cut the lag time needed to develop and implement disease-specific therapeutics to nearly zero and potentially improve mortality rates.
