Robust Four-Dimensional Imaging Through Structured Illumination Plenoptics

Executive Summary

We will develop an in-situ, single-camera three-dimensional imaging capability that enables real-time topography measurement of materials under extreme conditions (i.e., ablation, hypersonic flow, detonation) where current state of the art techniques fail. Our research will deliver a tailorable, high-fidelity three-dimensional imaging modality that is robust to the extreme experimental conditions found in laser-material interaction and hypersonic materials research that are critical to basic science, national security, and defense.
