Photonic Transceivers for Secure Radio Frequency Communications and Radar

Executive Summary

We will design, simulate, and evaluate the performance of a photonic transceiver with a signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio greater than 54 decibels that would enable the use of advanced communication protocols for covert wireless communications. Using photonic-encoding and high-order signal modulation technologies, this system would enable data to be concealed "in plain sight" prior to any digital signal processing, all without error or data loss.
