High-Pressure Electrochemistry in Condensed Gases and Supercritical Fluids

Executive Summary
We will explore the physics driving the electrochemistry of liquid carbon dioxide to carbon compounds to develop the first system to directly convert waste carbon dioxide to liquid hydrocarbon fuels in a single electrochemical process. If successful, this technology will provide a significant way of removing carbon directly from the atmosphere to mitigate global climate change.
