Exact Representation of Curved Material Interfaces and Boundaries in High-Order Finite Element Simulations
Vladimir Tomov | 21-ERD-031
Executive Summary
Our project will research and develop numerical algorithms to exactly represent material interfaces and boundaries in finite element simulations. The results will substantially improve Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's simulation capabilities in all of its mission focus areas. This research will lead to improved fidelity in stockpile stewardship simulations and advances in scalable solvers ready for the next-generation exascale computing architectures.
