Ionization-Based Optical Structures for the Control of Short-Pulse Lasers

Matthew Edwards | 21-LW-013

Executive Summary

We will create an experimental testbed and simulation framework to understand ultrafast plasma gas and light interactions that inform the control of compact, next-generation, high-power lasers. If successful, our research will pave the way to viable, extreme-intensity diagnostics and higher energy densities in support of experiments that advance national security and stockpile stewardship missions.
