Executive Summary

We will develop an ultra-efficient electrochemical technique — flow electrode capacitive deionization — to desalinate water with salt levels ranging from brackish to seawater and with less than 10% feed water rejected as waste. This will provide an efficient and low waste pathway for making desalination a major contributor to alleviating water scarcity.
