A Kinetic Transport Model for Magnetized Radiation-Hydrodynamics
Mark Sherlock | 22-ERD-034
Executive Summary
We will advance our ability to predictively model high-energy-density experiments by coupling a kinetic description of electron and magnetic field transport to a pre-existing radiation-magnetohydrodynamics code. This new predictive capability will eliminate the long-standing issue of using ad-hoc multipliers in design codes to account for kinetic transport, while also providing a benchmarking tool for future development of models for laser-plasma interactions.
